Type 4 Single Beam Photoelectric Sensor
Type 4, single beam safety sensor for protecting small openings or large areas
The ST4 series from SUNX offers a single beam safety sensor for machine guarding applications that do not require full light curtain setup.
Series Connection
The ST4 series can be expanded to allow for 6 sensors wired in series and up to three controllers for a total system of 18 sensors. This allows for coverage of a larger area with full interference prevention.
Beam axis alignment and operation confirmation
The beam interruption indicator is incorporated in both the emitter and receiver. This indicator can be used not only for operation confirmation but also for beam axis alignment. Moreover, the stability indicator indicates if the incident light intensity exceeds 150 % in stable operation.
Three Pattern Muting Control (ST4-C12EX only)
The ST4-C12EX contains inputs for muting sensors and muting lamps so that muting circuits can be directly setup on the controller itself. Further more, this controller provides three muting pattern options for highly specialized muting operations. Complex processes can be individually divided and muted separately, all with one controller.
Integrate Sensor Head Diagnostic Function (ST4-C12EX only)
The light received condition of the sensor heads in series connection can be confirmed when using the high-functional controller ST4-C12EX. In addition, any abnormal sensors during lockout can be identified.
Compact Sensor Head with Industry Standard Mounting Pitch
The sensor heads of the ST4 series have a compact size that is similar to that of our CX-400 general purpose sensors. They also utilize the same mounting pitch for a simple, standardized mounting approach.
IP-67 Rated Enclosure
The sensor heads are rated to IP-67, which offers high environmental resistance from both dust and water ingress.
Supports both NPN and PNP polarities
Both controllers in the ST4 line have the ability to be used in either NPN or PNP at the flip of a switch.
Semiconductor Control Output
The ST4 series uses long life semiconductor control outputs for high reliability usage. There is no need to periodically replace safety relays due to mechanical failures.
